Ingredients:
1 kg. red cabbage
1 big onion
1 apple
30 gr. butter
100 ml water
2 tsp. salt
4 bay-leaves
100 ml red wine
1/2 tsp. pepper
1/2 tsp. cumin
Preparation and serving:
Chop fine the onion and fry in the oil until it's glassy. Cut the cabbage in thick slices and add to the onion and butter. Stew 5 - 7 min., stirring occasionally. Peel tha apple, grate and add it to the cabbage together with the wine. Add the water, bay-leaves, salt, pepper and the cumin. Stir and then leave to boil at moderate heat for about 30 min.
Traditional side dish for roasted pork.
