Zucchini Au Gratin (Courgettes au gratin). French cuisine

Ingredients (serve 6):
1 kg. zucchini
150 g. smoked bacon
250 g. olive oil
4 cloves garlic
3 onions
1 can tomatoes (250 g.)
1 "bouquet garni"
100 g. yellow cheese (grated)
Black pepper
Salt

Preparation and serving:
Cut the zucchini by length. Sprinkle with some salt and leave to drain. Dice the bacon and fry it for few minutes in 2 tbsp. oil, then take it from the heat and leave it beside. Cut the onion in rings and fry it in the same oil until it gets golden-brown, then take it out and leave beside. Add the rest of the oil and fry in it the zucchini until they get golden-brown. Press the garlic, add it to the tomatioes, chop fine the herbs and add it as well, then mix everything well. In a baking tin order the prodycts by layers zucchini, bacon, tomato sauce, sprinkling salt and black pepper. On the top cover with the grated cheese. Bake in preheated oven for 10 minutes at 250°С.
Serve hot.
