Hungarian cuisine, known also as Magyar cuisine is usually spicy. It is famous with the large use of paprika, but also black pepper and onions. Typical cooking technique is the use of red pepper and flour to thicken the dish.
Meat is one of the most important products in the Hungarian cuisine with veal and beef being the most popular. The piquant taste and the red color coming from the red pepper are typical for many of the dishes. The most popular dish is the Goulash, which is prepared as a soup, or stew.
The typical breakfast consists usually of fresh bread, fruits, vegetables and sausage.
The lunch is the main feeding for the day and usually consists of soup, main course with meat, sweet course and fruits.
The dinner is rather simplified containing soup, bread and fruits.
World famous is the Tokay wine (Tokaji), which is a dessert wine. Quite famous is also the traditional fruit brandy Palinka.
