Can be found predominantly in Caspian and Black Sea. The beluga can reach a length of 6 м. and age of 150 years. There are reports for beluga with length of 8.6 m. and weight 2700 kg. It's beeing heavily fished because of the female belugas chavier, which is considered to be the best in the world. A lot of countries banned the import of beluga chavier in a try to save the decreasing population. The Beluga is a predator which feeds on small fish.
It's beeing classified as salt - water fish, although it travels up rivers to breed.
