Salmon is a common name for few fishes from the family Salmonidae. The salmon can be found in the Atlantic and Pacific Ocean, as well as in some salt lakes ant landlocked seas. It's a salt - water fish, although it travels up rivers to breed. An interesting fact is, that 90% of the salmon goes to breed to it's place of birth. The different species vary in both weight and length. The Norwegian salmon is cultivated in fish farms and is delivered on the market when it reaches age of 2 years and weight of about 5 kg.
